FAQs About

The Sink BULLTM

What are the advantages of the Sink BULL™ compared to hand shaping each sink?

Compared to hand shaping, the Sink BULL™ System offers several advantages:

1.       By using a template, less experienced (and less expensive) fabricators can produce perfectly shaped, CNC quality, sink cutouts.

2.       Every sink produced with a common template is the exact same shape regardless of who grinds it.

3.       Grinding a sink to shape using a template and Sink BULL™ is quick and easy as demonstrated in our 11 Minute Sink Grind video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P0Rm6SnHvY&t=5s).  Our fabricator stats with a 3cm slab and ends with a perfectly shaped 2210 cutout, ready to polish in 11 minutes.  In 2018 we designed our own vacuum brazed drums making the process even faster.  You no longer need to adjust the height between bits and the fine drum leaves a smoother, easier to polish surface.

4.       Your best (most highly paid) fabricator doesn’t have to grind every sink – you can have the “clean-up” kid grind perfect sinks.

5.       The Sink BULL™ System automatically produces perfectly square edges that are easy to polish.

6.       Side by side vanity sinks look identical.

7.       The Sink BULL™ creates less arm, wrist and hand fatigue than manual hand shaping

Is this just an elaborate tool for smoothing out a saw cut?

Smoothing out the saw cut is the hardest part of creating a sink cutout. Anyone can rough out a bunch of material from a slab. The hard part is shaping it perfectly to the profile of the sink. Its a similar analogy to a nail gun; sure you can just hammer nails in, but why would you when there’s a tool that makes that job much quicker and easier?

How do you cut out the sink hole with this tool?

The Sink Bull™ is not intended to drop the hole.  The bulk of the hole will be cut out with a blade on a grinder or a hand held wet saw.  When cutting you can stay a good distance from the line because the Sink Bull™ with Rapid Z-Cut™ will grind away the excess material quickly.  This process of roughing out with a blade and grinding to shape with the Sink Bull™/Rapid Z-Cut™ is the fastest manual fabrication method we have found.

Where is the tool that can both cut and smooth a sink cut out at once?

We have looked into this and our current system of roughing out the shape with a blade and grinding to shape with the Sink BULL and template works much easier and faster then a any system currently available that would cut and grind at the same time.

Does this process work on all Granite, Quartz, marble, etc?

Yes, but you should test the Rapid Z-Cut™ for excessive chipping on any fragile material.  Additional styles of blades for fragile material will be available in the future.

Where do I get the sink templates?

You can make your own templates from plywood or plastic with traditional wood working tools (router, jigsaw, sander etc.) or have them made by a local cabinet shop with a CNC router.
