As the world of computer aided manufacturing expands, hand tools get forgotten. The stone industry still employs craftsmen, and some of these simple tools are essential for efficient, precise fabrication. Below are some tools we've designed and have been using ourselves for several years. We're making these available to our customers. Have your favorite distributor order some or purchase them directly from our web store.
Radius Templates
Our radius templates are a two piece set that includes 12 separate radii from .5" to 2.0". Use these to draw accurate layout lines or to show customers what a specific radius will look like. The edges are offset slightly to work with a Presto Correction Pen (a.k.a. white-out pen). The center of the white line is the true radius and the back edges are relieved to help avoid smears. All text is recessed in a contrasting color so it's easy to read and will never wear off. The templates are sold in a two piece color matched set (colors vary).
Faucet Hole Gauge
A simple tool that we use to verify correct faucet hole size. We keep this with our templating tools and check the faucets on every job. With this simple tool we have eliminated "guesstimating" with a tape measure. No more callbacks to correct a faucet hole size. Four common hole sizes are included (1.00", 1.25", 1.38", 1.50"). Additionally, this tool is 3cm thick to approximate slab thickness, and all edges and corners have a 1/8" radius so you can show an "eased" edge to the homeowner. The body of this tool is a neutral color, and all text is recessed in a contrasting color, so it's easy to read and will never wear off. Colors will vary.
Handheld SL3 Adapter
Our Handheld SL3 Quick Change Adapter is a simple way to hold a Hook & Loop Backer, Turbo, or any of our other SL3 Quick Change System items. Our fabricators use it anytime they need to do quick handwork; it can also be used for stone restoration and refurbishment!
